![]() This is a war game, not an economic simulator or civilization builder. Here's a few basic things that can save you a lot of hassle (for normal games, not no colonizer mode): I think it's the same problem that lead to the OP going for all the NPC units. Most often if players are struggling, it's because they're not managing their economy and research correctly. If you combine a Paragon with the Anomalous site Voidtech operation you can multiply it, then use the summon ability on each of them to have a total of six units on the field rather than one or two. Their primary repeating attack does solid damage, they have a summon ability, and they have a decent aoe ability. I don't tend to use the Heavy Soldiers much because usually at that point I'm just saving influence for the powerhouse that is the Paragon. ![]() Paragon Guards are solid for staggering but I mostly use them to soak attacks meant for my other units.įanatics are a bit odd, they have a couple nice traits, but their overcharge ability (Their primary gimmick) is rendered useless by the mod you can get at the integration stage. However the Paragon Soldiers have the Imperial Augments trait (Which allows them to be Overcharged) and count as Cyborgs (Which makes Doctrines such as the Architect's Touch especially fantastic). Paragon Soldiers are statistically identical to Vanguard Troopers as standard. The feeling of seeing your network controller/apex/heavy soldier/melter smashing enemy poor tier 1 and 2 units are quite satisfying. But by the time they declare war I can usually spawn a full squad of Tier3&4 fully modded at capital and push them back. Research only goes to mods that I consider useful but not units.ĪI seems to view you as an easy target if you have small military power. Keep limited stacks only so quests targets spawn relatively near. All production goes to economy and try avoid producing units, only mod if must. At the same time maintain a high reputation. ![]() Keep doing quests and buy with influence to get to integrated with the faction you want the most by ~round 30. Basically focusing on influence, at the start of game immediately say hi to nearest NPC faction and send scouts to try meet more. That's why I go for a different approach. Always play on very hard, usually vs 7 AI but they usually start falling to early aggression by round 40 and I don't get to use higher tier units. ![]()
